well, it's been a year since my last journal so here's my yearly update

what has changed? i found a full time job in my field that i started in january and have been with it since. i'm a media developer/designer for a computer software company which, as the name suggests, entails designing most of the graphical and promotional materials for their software and company image. it's a small company, maybe 30 people, but my first job in the 'real world' and a positive experience.

shortly after last year's journal entry, i started my own photography business, and business has been booming. i filled my year after a short while of advertising and have been overwhelmed with the response. i already have a few bookings for next year even though i haven't officially advertised, but i'll start that process soon and see how it goes. it makes me really excited about the future and i look forward to the vast possibilities where it can take me.

i'm still engaged, though we finally have a date in 2010. two years away feels like a long time but i think it will come sooner than we expect. i'll probably start small planning next spring/summer, but again.. not in a hurry.. in the meantime i'll continue to photograph other people's weddings!

illustration-wise, things have been the same. i've been doodling here and there, mostly at work. but because i've been so busy with my business i don't really have time or motivation to do much of it, but that's also just one of the reasons. i've been pining to get back into watercolors ... so we'll see how things go. i feel a bit uninspired doing any paintings at my current living place mostly cause of lack of space and time (i think), but maybe at least the latter might change by next year.
